I loved working alongside the videographers to create my video advertisement. I got to go down to their studio and watch them work. To help them create the animations, I brought a few pairs of my jeans with me so they could study the fabric and design, and then copy it in the animations. Although they were one of the best video production companies Melbourne had to offer – at least according to my research – I was aware that they were still starting out. I wanted to make their jobs as easy as possible.
I offered to draw 2D animations and help them storyboard, since after all I am a designer and have some art skills of my own. They accepted my assistance and I gave them the ideas I had in regards to the advertisement. However, it was important that I acknowledged I was not an expert in the marketing field, nor in the marketing video production field, so although I offered a number of suggestions, I ultimately let them guide the project and make all of the final decisions. This comes back to what I said earlier about leadership, and how the best leaders let others play to their strengths. I am a huge advocate of teamwork, and I believe that being a good team member and an even better communicator was one of the biggest reasons I have succeeded in the business world.

Be passionate about the things you invest your time into, and be passionate about the people you work with and the things you do each day. Passion makes everything more exciting!
